Aux Abris is a boutique design studio specializing in fine wallpapers with highly textured surfaces. Printed on metallic grasscloth wallpaper, silk wallpaper, and Japanese woven wallpaper as well as other innovative grounds.  Often inspired by early twentieth century art movements such as the Bauhaus, French Modernism or Art Nouveau the founder Karen Roberts, brings a fresh eye to timeless wallpaper patterns and reinvent them for modern interiors pushing the boundaries of texture, color, and design.

Founded by interior decorator and graphic designer Karen Robert in 2015, her design aesthetic was honed during her many years living in Paris, London and Milan. She likes well-worn rooms with quirky modern touches and an exuberance of color, texture and pattern.  The name “Aux Abris” means “take shelter” which is a nod to both her vacation house in Shelter Island, and her husband who is half French. This year, Robert is excited to launch her hospitality line with the aim of bringing a fresh perspective to contract wallcoverings and murals.

AUX ABRIS is printed on grasscloth, silk and vinyl in house by Roberts at her studio in upstate New York.
